About Greenbelt Maryland
Greenbelt was settled in 1937 as a public cooperative community ("an experiment in American socialism") in the New Deal Era. The concept was at the same time both eminently practical and idealistically utopian: the federal government would foster an "ideal" self-sufficient cooperative community that would also ease the pressing housing shortage near the nation's capital. Construction of the new town would also create jobs and thus help stimulate the national economic recovery following the Great Depression.
Greenbelt, which provided affordable housing for federal government workers, was one of three "green" towns planned in 1935 by Rexford Guy Tugwell, head of the United States Resettlement Administration, under authority of the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act. (The two other green towns are Greendale, Wisconsin (near Milwaukee) and Greenhills, Ohio (near Cincinnati).

Silver Spring is an urbanized, but unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland, in the United States. After Baltimore, Silver Spring is the second largest place in Maryland.

Bowie Maryland - Population: 50,269
The town of Bowie owes its existence to the railway. In 1853, Col. William D. Bowie succeeded in obtaining a charter from the Maryland legislature to construct a rail line into Southern Maryland. In 1869 the Baltimore & Potomac Railroad Company began the construction of a railroad from Baltimore to Southern Maryland. By 1872, it was completed together with a spur to Washington DC. The remainder of the railroad through Southern Maryland and Pope's Creek was completed in 1873.
Earlier, the area was dotted with small farms and large tobacco plantations in an economy based on agriculture and slavery. However, in 1870 Ben Plumb, a land speculator and developer, sold building lots around the railroad junction and named the settlement "Huntington City." This has been declared as the founding of Huntington City in 1870.

Laurel Maryland - Population: 19,960
Laurel is an incorporated city in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, located midway between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC.
Though the incorporated portion is located in Prince George's County, unincorporated parts of three other counties — Anne Arundel, Howard, and Montgomery are adjacent to the city limits and are also considered as part of the community. The postal code of nearby Montpelier is also referred to as "Laurel," though it is not within the city limits; the same is true for Scaggsville and Whiskey Bottom in Howard County.

Laurel is home to a horse racetrack, Laurel Racecourse, which is actually in Anne Arundel County, and was also the home of an automobile racetrack and a horse trotter track, decades ago. Hyattsville Maryland - Population: 14,733
The city was named for its founder, Christopher Clark Hyatt. He purchased his first parcel of land in the area in March 1845. He thought the proximity to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad tracks and the telegraph lines made the area a good site for a town, and the surrounding farmlands were soon subdivided into housing lots. The name Hyattsville was being used for the settlement by 1859.
As a community Inside the Beltway, Hyattsville still enjoys easy access to Washington and Baltimore by the West Hyattsville and Prince George's Plaza stops on the Metro subway system's Green Line or by MARC commuter rail trains on the Camden Line in the neighboring town of Riverdale Park.
The historic district of the city is home to a number of Victorian houses built in the late 1880s and Sears bungalows and Arts & Crafts houses built between the wars (late 1910s and early 1940s).
